About
Hi, my name is Linda Gray.
As you can tell if you are familiar with the old TV show Dallas, I am a member of the Famous Name Club. The mother of one of my friends, who I’ve met on occasion, thinks my name is Sue Ellen.
The club has many members and new ones are joining all of the time. I’ve personally met some of the other club members like Tim Allen, Jack Webb and Ann Margret among others. We always share a knowing laugh. I recently met Michael Jordan. He told me that he was just glad that his name wasn’t Dennis Rodman.
Some people became part of the group when they were born. Their parents had a last name that was famous and bestowed the well known moniker onto their brand new baby. George Foreman wasn’t satisfied until all five of his sons were in the club (all named George).
Like me, there are many females who have entered into the club on their wedding day.
Others have found themselves suddenly propelled into the group because someone who has their same name does something remarkable (or finally gets noticed after years of trying).
In order to join this club, I had to rescind my membership in the Crazy Initials Club.
I first discovered my embarrassing initials when I was a teenager of all times. Video games were very popular, and when you played, you got the privilege of displaying your initials on the screen for all to see if your score was high enough. When I triumphed over the game, my score was ranked along with the letters LSD. I actually overheard some kids who didn’t know me, discussing what they supposed was a prank on the screen.
I guess that my name will always be a part of me that sets me apart in some way or another. I’m just glad that I am not one of those poor souls that are part of the Infamous Name Club.
